CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — In a recent announcement, the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau proudly revealed that Shine On Chillicothe, the local annual holiday light display, has secured its place as one of the featured exhibits on the Ohio Holiday Lights Trail.
Governor Mike DeWine expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The Ohio Holiday Lights Trail is truly unique, and the stops are great destinations to spend time with family and experience the heart of Ohio’s communities.”
This year’s Shine On Chillicothe promises an array of new exhibits, creating ideal opportunities for families and friends to capture special holiday memories. The display has consistently expanded each year, and the current season is no exception in Yoctangee Park.
Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development overseeing TourismOhio, shared her excitement about the collaborative nature of the trail, stating, “The holidays are about coming together to celebrate, and it’s great that we get to do that in a way with destinations from all across the state coming together for the trail to celebrate the holidays.”
With both new and cherished stops along the self-guided trail, Shine On Chillicothe is contributing to the grandeur of the Ohio Holiday Lights Trail for the second consecutive year. With an impressive 70 stops in total, this season’s trail is the largest yet.
Melody Young, Executive Director of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau, emphasized the community pride reflected in Shine On Chillicothe, stating, “It gives [visitors] a sense of the pride that we take in our community and adds to their experience as they explore Chillicothe and Ross County.”
