ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities in Ross County are investigating a reported burglary that took place on Sunday.

The caller reported a break-in at her mother’s house on Easterday Road.

The caller stated that her boyfriend is in the process of purchasing the property. She mentioned individuals staying at the house without authorization, and suspicions were raised regarding a possible connection to a previous trespassing report.

Upon entry, the caller said they noted signs of a disturbance, such as open cabinets and drawers, and a broken master bedroom window. Valuables, including coins from the 1800s and 1920s, TVs, a laptop, keys, checks, and antique jewelry, were reported missing.

The caller expressed a belief that a neighbor has experienced similar issues with the individuals involved.

The estimated value of the stolen coins is reported to be $7,000 for the 1800s coins, and potentially ranging from $100 to $50,000 for the 1920s coins, depending on their condition. Authorities also gathered information from another individual who reported threats and witnessed suspicious activities.

The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement actively pursues leads in this unsettling burglary case.
