WASHINGTON, D.C. – Approximately 12,100 Amana, Daikin, and Goodman branded air conditioning and heat pump packaged units are being recalled due to a fire hazard. The recall, issued by Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing L.P. (DCT), was announced today after it was discovered that the unit’s serial plate may display incorrect electrical ratings, which can result in improper wiring and pose a fire risk.

- Description: The recalled units are gray or green and can be identified by the model number on the electrical connection side of the unit’s outside panel.
Hazard: The incorrect electrical ratings on the serial plate can lead to incorrect wiring, posing a significant fire hazard.
Remedy: Consumers should not attempt to open the outside electrical panel of the recalled units. Instead, they should immediately contact Daikin Comfort Technologies for a free repair and inspection. DCT is proactively reaching out to all known purchasers to facilitate this process.
