ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A drive-by shooting in Ross County is currently under investigation by local authorities. According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on July 6, 2024, in response to reports of gunfire along Polk Hollow Road.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the resident who reported the incident. The caller stated that while sitting inside her house, she heard two loud noises followed by the sound of a vehicle speeding away. She reviewed footage from her home security camera and observed a dark blue Chevy S-10 with dark tinted windows. The vehicle was seen firing one shot before disappearing from the camera’s view.
The report indicates that the vehicle sped up and a second shot was fired from the driver’s side window as it exited the camera’s field of vision. Deputies searched the area where the second shot was believed to have been fired but were unable to locate any shell casings.
The investigation into the drive-by shooting is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and seek information regarding the suspect vehicle.
