ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Route 35 near milepost 34 in Ross County. The collision, which took place on August 14th, 2024, at 2:02 PM, involved four vehicles and resulted in several injuries, including two individuals who were airlifted for treatment.

The incident began when a 2019 Kenworth 310, driven by Abdullahi Aden, 36, of Faribault, Minnesota, suffered a blown tire while traveling eastbound on Route 35. The truck veered off the left side of the road into the westbound lanes, colliding with a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Michael Toth, 53, of Oak Hill, Ohio. The impact caused the semi to overturn, where it was then struck by a 2019 Lincoln MKC driven by Michael Wahl, 84, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania. The truck continued to crash into a 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kellie Thomason-Stacy, 44, of Jackson, Ohio.

Aden was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center by Jefferson Township EMS and later flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger from the Dodge Grand Caravan was also airlifted to Children’s Hospital, while the other occupants involved were taken to Adena Medical Center for minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
