CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A high-speed chase in the early hours of Monday morning ended in a dramatic crash on Marietta Road, where authorities detained a male suspect at gunpoint.
According to dispatch reports, the pursuit began around 1 a.m. when law enforcement attempted to stop a vehicle near Bridge Street. The suspect fled northbound on Marietta Road before losing control and crashing in the 2300 block.
Radio traffic indicates officers had the suspect at gunpoint moments after the crash, and the Ohio State Patrol was called in for assistance. Emergency medical services were requested at the scene after the individual was taken into custody.
A witness who encountered the aftermath of the crash reported on social media that the vehicle struck a tree.
