CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Firefighters were called to a working structure fire Wednesday morning in Chillicothe.
The call came into dispatchers shortly before 9 a.m. regarding smoke billowing from a residence in the 100 block of East Fourth Street.
Witnesses told dispatchers that a group of individuals ran out of the home and then jumped into a car before leaving the scene. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries as a result of the fire.
Crews arrived on the scene and established a water connection to begin knocking down the flames.
It should be noted that this residence was the scene of a homicide just last week.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. Officials have called for an arson investigator.
