ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A man was discovered injured alongside Potts Hill Road near Bainbridge, on Monday. The unidentified individual informed authorities that he had fallen victim to a robbery where two suspects allegedly stole his pickup truck.
The man was spotted by a passerby who called 9-1-1. When the deputies arrived, the injured man was in significant pain and couldn’t provide coherent responses, the report read.
According to the man’s account, he found two individuals inside his recently purchased pickup truck at a residence in Bainbridge. He said, per the report, that he recognized one of the suspects but couldn’t recall their name. He recounted regaining consciousness at the site where he was discovered, with a forehead bruise and his truck missing.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) airlifted the man to a Columbus hospital for a potential head trauma.
Reports say that deputies and troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol searched for the missing truck but were unable to locate it.
Subsequently, information was received from troopers that the truck was involved in a crash. Troopers with the patrol stated that the alleged stolen vehicle had crashed into a residence on Pike Lake Road, and the injured man was a suspect in the hit-and-run. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover details surrounding the alleged robbery, stolen vehicle, and subsequent crash.
