CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local authorities are investigating after eight .38SW gun shell casings were discovered in front of a Dollar General store in Central Center in Chillicothe, despite no reports of gunshots in the area.
According to a police, officers responded to the scene after being alerted about the shell casings. Upon arrival, a woman directed officers to the casings, which were found near the store’s entrance, in the travel lane, and within the front parking spaces. The casings were collected and secured as evidence.
The assistant manager of Dollar General claimed to have no knowledge regarding the casings. When asked about potential surveillance footage, the manager said he would review the store’s camera that faces the front entrance. Police advised him to contact them if the footage revealed any pertinent information. As of now, no other surveillance cameras in the vicinity could provide further clues, officers said.
The incident remains under investigation, and the local community is urged to come forward with any information that might assist in solving this enigma.
