Chillicothe, Ohio — Chest bumping a US Marshal is never a good idea, and one local man found that out the hard way.
The incident occurred Thursday on Johnson Road as Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team members attempted to serve an arrest warrant. According to law enforcement officials, while securing the perimeter and awaiting a search warrant, a man identified as Thomas Brown emerged from the residence and began verbally accosting the agents. Reports indicate Mr. Brown used profanity and racial slurs towards the officers.
In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, a U.S. Marshal approached Mr. Brown. However, the situation reportedly escalated further as Mr. Brown ran towards the Marshal and made physical contact, forcefully bumping him in the chest.
Agents arrested Mr. Brown and placed him in handcuffs. He now faces charges of assault on a peace officer.
