CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police responded to a call at the BP gas station on North Bridge Street Wednesday night after a Greyhound bus driver reportedly removed an intoxicated passenger. The man, identified as Dane Russell, was allegedly too intoxicated to continue his trip and was cited for disorderly intoxication.

Officers were dispatched to the BP station at 760 North Bridge Street shortly before 8:30 PM in response to a report of a disruptive, intoxicated male. Upon arrival, police spoke with the Greyhound bus driver, who had ejected Russell from the bus due to his disruptive behavior toward other passengers.

According to reports, when police engaged with Russell, they observed that he was heavily intoxicated. They wrote in their report that his speech was extremely slurred. Officers said they detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Given his condition, police determined that it would be unsafe for Russell to continue traveling on the bus.

Russell was cited for disorderly intoxication and was not allowed to reboard the Greyhound.
