Head-on collision on Route 220 claims one life, injures another

PIKE COUNTY, Ohio – A late-night crash on State Route 220 near Industrial Park Drive left one man dead and another injured after a vehicle veered left of center, causing a violent head-on collision. The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 11:37 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Logan J. Warren, 25, of Waverly, Ohio, was driving a 2017 Dodge Challenger southbound on State Route 220 when a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by John Moore, 37, of South Webster, Ohio, crossed into his lane. The two vehicles collided head-on.

Mr. Warren was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Moore was transported to Adena Pike Medical Center and later transferred to Grant Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities suspect impairment may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
