ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Greenfield man was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries following a rear-end crash on Rapid Forge Road on Thursday afternoon.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Communication Center received a report of the crash at approximately 4:53 p.m. on April 30.
According to troopers, a 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Stephanie Halloran, 30, of Greenfield, had stopped behind an emergency vehicle on Rapid Forge Road when a 2001 Toyota Celica driven by Dustin Lambert, 30, also of Greenfield, failed to maintain a safe clear distance and struck the rear of the Ford.
Lambert was transported to Grant Regional Medical Center by MedFlight with suspected serious injuries. A passenger in Lambert’s vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Halloran did not report any injuries. A front-seat passenger in the Ford reported minor injuries. Two juvenile passengers in the Ford did not report any injuries.
Twin Township Fire and EMS and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Rapid Forge Road was closed for approximately one hour.
The crash remains under investigation.
