PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A 74-year-old Kentucky man died after his motorcycle ran off the road and struck a guardrail in Scioto County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Jack Watkins of Ghent, Kentucky, was driving a 2022 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra northwest on U.S. 52 near milepost 2 on State Route 125 when the crash occurred about 4:12 p.m. on Sunday, ccording to the patrol.
Watkins was flown from the scene to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, the patrol said.
The crash remained under investigation Sunday evening. The Portsmouth Dispatch Center received the initial call, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Nile Township Volunteer Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance.
