CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Historical Society and the Mound City Chapter of the Archaeological Society of Ohio are hosting a free Archaeology Day event this Saturday, May 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Ross County Heritage Center, 45 W. 5th Street in Chillicothe.
The event is open to the public and features hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and exhibits focused on the region’s Indigenous history and archaeology.
Activities will include artifact displays from local collectors and professionals, atlatl throwing demonstrations, weather permitting, a kids archaeology dig activity, weather permitting, museum exhibits on Native American history and culture, and a special preview station offering an inside look at a new exhibit expansion featuring a large collection of ancient Indigenous artifacts.
Admission is free.
