CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Pickaway County voters delivered a mixed set of outcomes Tuesday night, with one library levy failing by a wide margin, a senior services levy passing by a razor‑thin edge, and local liquor options splitting precincts, according to final unofficial results from the county Board of Elections.
The Southwest Public Libraries levy, affecting the Southwestern City School District portion of Pickaway County, was rejected decisively. Voters opposed the additional tax 25 to 5, with 1 of 1 precinct reporting. The measure would have provided additional funding for library operations.
The Senior Citizens Services levy, a countywide additional tax, passed by one of the closest margins of the night. Unofficial totals show the levy passing 4,420 to 4,280, a difference of just 140 votes with all 44 precincts reporting. The levy supports senior transportation, nutrition programs, and other aging‑services initiatives.
Two local liquor options produced split outcomes:
- In Ashville‑East (Kelli Jo’s 17), voters narrowly rejected Sunday alcohol sales 106 to 100.
- In South Bloomfield‑West (La Matraca), voters overwhelmingly approved Sunday sales 90 to 17.
In Perry Township (excluding the Village of New Holland), voters narrowly defeated an additional tax levy 51 to 46, with 1 of 1 precinct reporting.
All results remain unofficial until the Pickaway County Board of Elections completes its canvass and certifies the vote.
