CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe police officer is leading an effort to create a dedicated legal graffiti wall at the city’s new skate park, offering local artists a sanctioned space to showcase their work.

Officer Matt Shipley is raising funds through Project Bad Apple, a local nonprofit, to build a 40-by-8-foot wall at the skate park in Yoctangee Park. The wall would be designed specifically for painting and graffiti, giving artists a rotating canvas where work will be painted over as new artists make their mark.

Funds raised will cover the cost of construction, signage, and protective coating for the top of the wall. Any remaining funds will be used to purchase spray paint for community events where residents can show up and create.

Shipley is asking residents to consider donating or sharing in the fundraiser to help bring the project to life.
