CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police are investigating after a counterfeit $100 bill was presented at a Speedway convenience store on East Main Street early Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, a woman entered the store and attempted to use the counterfeit bill to purchase an item. A store employee recognized the bill as fake, kept it and did not allow the woman to leave with any merchandise.

Officers reviewed store surveillance footage but reported the video quality was poor and the woman moved frequently, making a clear identification impossible. The woman was described as white with brown hair, wearing a maroon shirt and jean shorts.

The counterfeit bill was collected and placed into evidence.
