K-9 deputy unit promoted in Pickaway County to Corporal

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Sheriff of Pickaway County has promoted a local deputy.

K-9 unit Rob Morningstar was given the promotion to Corporal on Friday in an official pinning ceremony. Morningstar is partnered with his K-9 dog, Harry. You may recall how Harry captured the hearts of an entire county — and arguably the world when a petition drive garnered 100,000 signatures to reunite the two.

Sheriff Matthew Hafey said the newly-promoted Corporal was chosen by an independent board comprised of law enforcement and a private citizen.

The promotion is effective immediately.
