CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A man was arrested in Chillicothe after police say he set a woman’s trash can on fire and then fled.

The incident happened late Wednesday evening. According to the report provided by the Chillicothe Police Department, a man in the 100 block of North Walnut Street witnessed the arsonist setting fire to a garbage can.

The witness quickly called the police and reported the disturbing incident. The suspect, later identified as 43-year-old Brandon Garrison, was located a short time later. Garrison, police say, admitted to setting the trash can on fire. His reason for doing so, the report read, was “He was (expletive) in the head.”

The owner of the trash can stated they wanted charges pressed against Garrison. He was taken into custody. He now faces a first-degree misdemeanor charge of arson. It is unknown if Garrison is connected to any other dumpster fires reported in Chillicothe this year.
