PIKE COUNTY, Ohio – On Tuesday night, September 10, 2024, at approximately 10:59 PM, the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on Route 220 near Progress Drive.
Anthony Hobbs, 52, from Columbus, was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima northbound when he veered off the roadway and lost control. The vehicle, troopers said, crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2007 Ford Taurus driven by Joann Jackson, 53, of Beaver. Hobbs was pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson was taken first to Adena-Pike Medical Center and then transferred to Grant Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
