A local woman was killed on Friday in an accident in Highland County.
Kelli J. Brown, 56, Chillicothe, was driving a pickup truck on Martinsburg Road near the intersection of Limes Road. Troopers said a preliminary investigation shows that Brown failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the roadway. She then overcorrected, the vehicle crossed the center line and was struck by a 2015 Kia Soul traveling southeast on Martinsburg Road, according to the highway patrol.
The Kia Soul was being driven by Herbert Everhart, 50, Washington Court House. Everhart was flown by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton with serious injuries.
Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Highland County Coroner’s Office.
