COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former Pike County police officer was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court to 120 months in prison for leading a drug trafficking organization that mailed more than 2,500 parcels of anabolic steroids nationwide and distributed 11 kilograms of cocaine.

Mark Anglemyer Jr., 42, of Waverly, previously served with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the police departments in Piketon, Waverly and Wellston.

From 2019 to 2024, Anglemyer imported precursor chemicals from China, manufactured steroids at residences in Pike County, and shipped the finished products to customers across the United States via the U.S. Postal Service, court documents show.

He also obtained kilogram quantities of cocaine from suppliers in California for distribution in the Waverly area. After those suppliers were arrested, Anglemyer and a co-conspirator traveled to Colombia in an attempt to establish a new source and mailed cocaine from there to Ohio, according to prosecutors.

Anglemyer and three co-defendants were indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2024. He pleaded guilty in April 2025 to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and anabolic steroids.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Algenon L. Marbley.
