JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — On the morning of October 10, a two-vehicle crash on State Route 93 resulted in serious injuries for one driver and minor injuries for another. The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. when Troopers from the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
The crash involved a 2014 Dodge Ram driven by 41-year-old Kelli Butler of Oak Hill, Ohio, who was traveling northbound on State Route 93, and a 2011 Kia Sorento operated by 17-year-old Brooklyn Peoples of Jackson, Ohio, heading southbound. According to authorities, Ms. Peoples failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line, colliding with Ms. Butler’s vehicle on the front passenger side.
Following the impact, Ms. Peoples’ vehicle veered off the east side of the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. She sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for treatment. Ms. Butler sustained minor injuries and was transported to Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.
State Route 93 was closed for about an hour and a half as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash.
