HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — A motorcyclist from Nelsonville was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Hocking County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred around 4:38 p.m. on Carbon Hill Buchtel Road.
Brian L. Campbell, 41, was riding his 2013 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide northbound on the rural road when he crossed the centerline while rounding a curve. His motorcycle collided with a southbound 2008 Scion xB driven by Bryan J. Souders, 32, also of Nelsonville.
Following the impact, Campbell’s motorcycle veered off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and overturned. He was transported by Hocking County EMS to Hocking Valley Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Souders was not injured in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Hocking County Coroner’s Office, Hocking County EMS, Nelsonville Fire Department, Ward Township Fire Department, Skiver’s Towing, and Doc’s Towing, continues to investigate the incident.
