BAINBRIDGE, Ohio — A man was taken into custody Sunday after a shooting was reported on Free Lane in Bainbridge, according to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Free Lane at approximately 11:57 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Before deputies arrived, dispatchers indicated the suspect may have been barricaded inside his residence, prompting a large law enforcement presence.
Reports state that Phillip Dragston Jr. surrendered to deputies as they arrived and was taken into custody without further incident.

The victim, who was not identified in the report, lives in a camper on a neighboring property.
Dragston Jr. faces a charge of felonious assault. He remains in custody at the Ross County Jail.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details regarding the condition of the victim.
